People with digestive problems - stomach pain, gas, bloating, diarrhea, and more - usually find it difficult to digest legumes (lentils, chickpeas, beans).
The dietary guidelines are usually to avoid legumes, but I see that in most cases it is possible to eat legumes in a certain amount.
It depends on which legume and how it is prepared for easier digestion.
So first of all, you should know that orange lentils are the easiest legume to digest and there is no need to soak them. Just rinse well before cooking.
Black and green lentils can be soaked (about overnight) and then sprouted. People think sprouting legumes is complicated but it's really simple, sprouting instructions are attached below.
After sprouting, the lentils are cooked. Although they are already soft and can be eaten, we must cook them to facilitate digestion.
Legumes that are more difficult to digest are beans and chickpeas. You can sprout them and see how it goes, but I wouldn't recommend it when the digestive system is not yet balanced enough.
So how do you germinate?
First, soak the legumes overnight in a bowl with plenty of water.
Then rinse the beans from the soaking water in a strainer and leave them in the strainer on the counter for two to three days. During these two to three days, sprinkle a little water on them about twice a day when you remember (optional).
If it is very, very hot, it is better to keep it in the refrigerator.
When you see sprouts emerging from the legumes, they are ready to eat. I recommend waiting two to three days for the sprouts to grow and then cooking the legumes along with the sprouts.
