תזונת 16-8

An article intended for practitioners of Chinese medicine:

As far as I know, Chinese medicine favors breakfast in the morning, and we see this on the Chinese clock, where the stomach is located between 7:00 and 9:00 in the morning.

Other cultures also talk about the importance of breakfast in the morning: Maimonides recommends eating breakfast like a king, and Alexander Suvorov, a Russian general known for his string of victories, said: "Eat breakfast alone, share lunch with your friend, and give dinner to your enemy."

Still, the 16/8 diet, during which you start eating later in the day, has more or less been adopted.

So who is it suitable for and who is it not?

In digestive problems, there will always be both spleen weakness and qi blockages. There can be many other syndromes such as empty or full heat/dampness/blood blockages and more, but there will always be spleen weakness and qi blockages in the background.

If spleen weakness is dominant, it is important to make sure to have a hot or warm breakfast and to eat in small quantities several times a day.

When Qi blockage is the dominant condition, a 16/8 diet may be more suitable.

I will not recommend this diet on my own initiative because I believe that breakfast is the body's fuel and it is important to give the body this fuel, but if someone feels that this diet is good for them, I will not interfere 😊.

In any case, I would not recommend that people with severe Qi bursts eat every 3-4 hours during the day, because it will be very difficult for them to digest frequent meals. It is better for them to eat less often and of course not to burst from a meal.
